I am aware that a lot of stuff in the program was (allegedly) lacking. However, I found great professors, wonderful advice and some really cool friends. I had my share of problems, of course, in the form of rivalries, and a few disappointments. But, there would be no reason for me to say that I didn't get my money's worth.
As far as the program rank, i remember it tying with Columbia and University of VA as third in the nation, or something along those lines.
I did not come to the program with the plan of tearing it donw after graduation under the guise of criticism to make myself appear modest, or even more intellectual. I admit there were a few problems, but I arrived during a transition, so things were only getting better. And, I would say, still are.
Advice to Prospective Students:
Come with an open mind and heart. Bring talent; you can't expect to acquire it by osmosis. (Although that will help). And choose what you like, remembering that none of these programs work miracles. In the process, though, you will meet some pretty wonderful people.
