Review Title:

An amazing experience---impossible to summarize.

Full Review of the Program:

The instructors here are extraordinary. I'm struggling to explain how extraordinary without sounding hyperbolic. But they really taught me how to write, how to read, and how to articulate my experiences with these fundamental processes. They were open to varying styles and sensibilities and able to take each piece of work on its own terms.

The tenor of the program is more cooperative than competitive. I made great, life-long friends here and found an intelligent, diverse community of writers to share work and ideas with.

Advice to Prospective Students:

NMSU is a great deal, and Las Cruces is a beautiful, sleepy place to get a lot of writing done.

I associate bad connotations with this term. Not sure what it means--hence the two star rating.
