this is a place where writers are encouraged to live as they write. the three year program keeps the course load from being overwhelming and the community of writers in las cruces (not only in the mfa but in the city as a whole) is unparalleled. the focus on craft is paramount, but no one loses sight of our craft's necessary marriage to experience. and here, everyone is in it together - for the craft, for the experience.
Advice to Prospective Students:
live in mesilla. an old-west town just down the road from las cruces.
