University of Washington MFA in Creative Writing
Program Description
The University of Washington's MFA writing program is a 55 credit course that takes three years to complete. To graduate, students must complete a creative manuscript, a 30 page critical essay, and conduct an oral presentation (either a reading from their thesis or discussion on their thesis and essay with the thesis committee). Some student receive graduate teaching assistantships, and the program also awards numerous fellowships. The total number of students ranges from between 30 and 40 each year.
