Program Description

The University of Montana MFA in Writing program is a 2 year course of study that consists of 45 semester hours and thesis credits. 12 of these credits must be in literature courses. The total number of students ranges from between 40 and 50. About half of the students are given teaching assistantships. Students must complete a thesis to graduate. The program hosts a variety of reading series each year, featuring both MFA students and established writers.
