Program Description

The MFA writing program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a three year program that requires a minimum of 48 hours of coursework, including workshops, craft classes, and literature courses. Every student receives financial support in the form of scholarships, fellowships, and teaching assistantships. Students will also have the opportunity to gain valuable publishing and editing experience; Ninth Letter, an acclaimed literature and arts magazine, is published by the MFA writing program in conjunction with School of Art and Design.
