University of Houston Graduate Program in Creative Writing
Program Description
The University of Houston MFA writing program is a three year course of study in fiction, poetry, or nonfiction. Students must complete 36 hours of coursework and 6 hours of MFA thesis, demonstrate a reading knowledge of a foreign language, and complete their MFA thesis. Some students receive 3 year teaching assistantships, and fellowships are also awarded each year. The program hosts eight reading series per year, including one curated by students.
