Program Description
The Master of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmaking is a three-year, 60 credit hour terminal degree. The program is selective and accepts approximately ten students per year. Upon completion of the MFA program, graduates will be fully qualified to compete in the ever-changing landscape of the motion picture industry or teach at the university level. The program emphasizes production skills through both a series of production seminars and a thesis project. In addition, students are required to take courses in screenwriting, history, and theory in order to create a more well rounded education. Full time students are expected to take approximately nine credits a semester. Students complete two years of full time course work. In their third year, students write, direct, produce, and edit a narrative thesis film (20-30 minutes).
