Program Description
UBC’s Optional-Residency MFA Program is unique among low-residency MFAs. Not only does it offer an unmatched range of writing genres, but it is designed to be particularly flexible, allowing part-time study, optional attendance at the Vancouver residencies and up to five years to complete the degree. Students can study in seven writing genres as well as take workshops in teaching writing and new media. A studio program, it emphasizes workshop-based learning. Classes are carried out online.
