Program Description

The New School University offers an MFA writing program with concentrations in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and writing for children. It is a 36 credit program meant to be completed in four semesters. In the first three semesters, students take a workshop in their chosen concentration, a literature seminar, and participate in the Writer's Life Colloquium. In their last semester, students continue to participate in the Colloquium but do not enroll in classes; instead they devote their time to the completion of their thesis manuscript.
