Syracuse University MFA in Creative Writing
Program Description
The Syracuse MFA in Creative Writing is a 48 credit hours, 3 year course in either fiction or poetry. Students must take 9 credit hours of workshop, 9 credit hours of creative writing seminars, 12-15 credit hours of English department courses, 6-9 credit hours of electives, and 6 hours of thesis credits. In addition to their creative thesis, students must complete a 5,000 essay in their Essay seminar addressing the work of a major writer. There are various fellowships and teaching assistantships available for students.
