Program Description

Located in one of the country’s most culturally diverse scenes, our campus is the perfect setting for tradition and innovation. We offer degrees in fiction, poetry, playwriting and translation. In workshop, craft and literature courses, our renowned faculty challenges as much as it nurtures. Our program partners with the Poetry Society of America, The Actors Company Theater, and the campus ESL Program. Students exercise a role in building their writing community through residencies at the Louis Armstrong House Museum, the CUNY-wide Turnstyle Reading Series and Ozone Park—a national literary journal. We cross genres. We cross boundaries.

Current faculty: Nicole Cooley, MFA Director. Kimiko Hahn, Roger Sedarat, Jocelyn Lieu, Jeff Allen, Richard Schotter, John Weir.

Application Deadline: Feburary 15, 2010.
