Program Description

The Northeast Ohio MFA writing program is a consortium of four universities: Cleveland State University, Kent State University, The University of Akron, and Youngstown State University. Students may attend courses at any of the universities. Students may concentrate in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, playwriting, and literary translation. Students are encouraged to take classes in genres other than their own. Full and partial funding is awarded through teaching teaching assignments or employment opportunities on several literary journals. To graduate, students must complete 48 hours of coursework and a creative thesis.
