Program Description

The MFA writing program at NYU is one of the most distinguished creative writing programs in the country. The program is a close community of approximately 100 graduate students. Students enroll in one workshop and one craft course per semester and complete a creative thesis to graduate. All students receive departmental funding in the form of tuition remission credits. Some students receive additional funding through fellowships. Approximately 55 undergraduate teaching positions are offered to second year students. Alumni include Nell Freudenberger, A.M. Homes and Kate Walbert.
