Miami University Creative Writing Program
Program Description
The MFA writing program at Miami University is offered by the English department. Students may study fiction or poetry, and are expected to complete a final thesis, consisting of a book length work by the end of the two year program. Students must take workshop, as well as courses in craft and literature. In addition to the thesis, at the end of the last semester, students must hand in a final portfolio, which includes a sample of creative work, a critical paper, a self-assessment, and a critical bibliography. All MFA students receive some form of financial aid through teaching assistantships and scholarships.
