Program Description
The Medical University of Silesia is one of the biggest medical teaching centers in Poland and central Europe, founded in 1948. It employs 3000 professors, independent researchers and academic teachers and consists of five schools: School of Medicine in Katowice, School of Medicine with the Division of Dentistry in Zabrze, School of Health Care in Katowice, School of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine in Sosnowiec and School of Public Health in Bytom.
School of Medicine in Katowice offers two types of English language medical program for foreign students: 6-year program for High School graduates and Advanced (4-year) program for pre-medical/paramedical college graduates. Our curriculum has been created to follow European education standards and meet American medical system requirements at the same time. Students have a unique opportunity to attend clinical part of education in our affiliated teaching hospitals in the United States and Taiwan. Graduates obtain MD diploma valid in all European countries.
Student campus and main clinical facilities are located in Katowice-Ligota. This excellent location (international airport, railway connections to most European capitals: Vienna 400 km, Prague 450 km, Berlin 500 km, Budapest 400 km) makes it very attractive to plan medical education here.
