Program Description

The Master of Fine Art program aims to attract students intending to expand their careers as producers, writers and creators of film, television or new media content. Students will be engaged in contemporary industry practice and develop an entrepreneurial, innovative and creative approach to building a career in the film and media industries.

The program is industry-focused and provides students with a thorough grounding in the following areas:

* The production process including the acquisition of intellectual property, its development and production and also marketing and exhibition.
* Narrative form, structure, scriptwriting techniques and strategies as well as an overview of the process (pre-production, production, post-production and distribution).

Students will gain hands-on experience in the following disciplines: scriptwriting, budgeting, production documentation, studio and location shoots, camera, lighting, sound, editing (audio and video) as well as learn about audience identification and industry structures.
