Georgia State University The New South’s Writing Workshops
Program Description
Students in The New South's Writing Workshops take an equal number of writing and literature courses, and must pass a written exam in area of study in their chosen genre, as well as complete an MFA thesis, a minimum of 50 pages of poetry or 150 pages of fiction. The English Department publishes the acclaimed Five Points literary journal, and distinguished writers visit campus throughout the year to give talks and readings.
